Avocado - The magic food! Whether you make an avocado smoothie or add to your salad bowl or have some guacamole, it tastes heavenly, isn't hard on the pockets and it goes with anything! Incorporating avocado in your skin care routine can also do wonders for your skin. You might have noticed that many beauty or health products contain avocado because of its so many nutritional benefits. It contains minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants that can benefit your skin and your body in multiple ways. Here are a few ways to use avocado in your daily

Skin Care Routine -

1. Use it as a moisturizer

Mash semi-ripe avocados, directly apply onto your skin and leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes. You can then remove it by taking a shower or just rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Pat dry your skin after that. You can combine the mashed avocado with a spoonful of yogurt and raw honey. This is for people with extremely dry skin. The natural oils present in avocado are very similar to the natural oils present in our skin. This gives it natural moisturizing properties. It softens the skin and provides moisture to all those flaky, dry patches on your skin.

2. Treating the signs of aging

There are dozens of anti-aging creams and other products available in the market, but not all are pocket-friendly. Not all of us can afford to get a Jennifer Aniston-style skin care treatments at the salon. But what you can do is spend a few bucks on avocados to whisk up your own anti-aging mask, rich with antioxidants and amino acids. You can simply apply mashed avocado on your face directly. You can also mix a tablespoon of coconut oil for fantastic results. Once you've applied it, let it sit for at least thirty minutes before you wash it off. After applying regularly, those pesky wrinkles and lines will diminish, gradually.

Along with applying it to your skin, remember to include it in your diet as well. Its antioxidants help the body detox, which in turn helps make your skin smooth and soft, devoid of any signs of aging.

3. A hand scrub for your rough hands

Our hands are one of those body parts that face the most wear and tear as most of our work is done with these two. These tend to get rough, dry, especially during winter. Just gather around some sugar, olive oil patchouli essential oil and avocados. Mash it and mix all these things together. It is super easy to make. Now you just need to apply it on your hands.

Make sure you scrub it gently and not too harshly or you might end up irritating your skin. Scrub for a few minutes before rinsing it off. After this, apply your regular moisturizer and you're already on your way to beautiful, soft, moisturized hands! You can apply the mixture once or twice in a day, and you can also store it for using later on.

4. Use it as a sunscreen

The fats in avocado form a layer on the skin, providing it protection from the sun. Among all vegetable oils, avocado has the highest natural SPF, which is why it protects the skin against both UVA as well as UVB rays. If not as a sunscreen, you can also use it to treat your skin if you have a sunburn. Take some aloe vera gel and mix it with the mashed avocado. Apply it to your skin, and rehydrate your skin, along with calming the burning sensation.

5. Use it to fight acne

Along with being a great moisturizer, avocado also helps fight acne by keeping the skin hydrated and reducing inflammation. It has vitamin K and C that fight acne-causing bacteria and boost the immune system.

You should also eat more avocado if you suffer from acne. Other than that, you can use a mask made from mashed avocados and a few drops of lemon juice. With it, you can add rolled oats and apply it to your skin 3 to 4 times in a week.

6. Use it to get rid of dandruff

Let's face it, all of us have had dandruff at one point of time in our lives. It just wouldn't go away! We've tried so many things but nothing works as promised. But thanks to avocados, there is still hope for us.

Dry scalp is the culprit behind so the key here is to keep it moisturized. This avocado hair mask is the perfect solution for it. Take an avocado and mash it up in a bowl. To it, add two drops of tea tree oil, a few drops of Argan oil and two tablespoons honey. Mix it until the consistency is smooth and creamy. Apply this mask to your scalp directly and let it sit for about twenty minutes. Rinse it off and then shampoo, as usual. Avocado with its vitamins and amino acids soothes the scalp and tea tree oil helps deal with any fungal infection.
