A good night’s sleep is very important. It not only lets you keep your mind healthy, but is also very important for your skin. With the busy life, it is only sensible to use the sleeping time to good use and get beautiful overnight. In this article, we bring to you some tips that you can use to wake up feeling fresh, alert and even more gorgeous.
• Wash your face
With all the dirt and chemicals from pollution in your face, any of the beauty products won’t make any difference. So, it is important to get a clean slate before you begin the overnight tricks. Wash your face before going to bed. On the exhausting late nights, keep a pack of face wipes near you.
• Get rid of the eye bags
How often have you woken up with dark circles under your eyes even after getting enough sleep? Every morning you have to get a quick fix to soften them before applying makeup. Many women use eye cream and moisturizer, but if these aren’t working for you, you can always try some natural products.
Brew two bags of caffeinated green tea. Leave them in the fridge for 15-20 minutes or until they are cool. Remove the excess moisture out by squeezing it. Apply them to your eyes and leave it for 20 minutes. The tannins of the tea bags will tighten and soothe skin while the caffeine shrinks blood vessels.
• Lengthen your lashes
Who doesn’t love lengthy lashes? Applying mascara will lengthen your lashes, but you can also try this natural method for lengthening the lashes. Take a clean mascara wand and apply castor oil to it. Apply the oil on your lashes, from root to tip, before going to sleep. This helps in conditioning eyelashes and helps them to grow.
The same technique can be used for eyebrows. Just apply the oil to your brows before going to bed. Don’t forget to wash the oil off in the morning, else your makeup won’t stay put throughout the day.
• That sexy pout
Apply some lip scrub in the evening to stimulate the blood flow in your lips. Before going to sleep, apply your favorite lip balm and wake up with soft lips.
• Mask On
Face masks hydrate, tighten, and brighten your skin while you sleep. You can apply a tomato juice and honey face mask. Tomato is a rich source of Vitamin A, C and E. It also has high anti-oxidant properties. Apart from acting as an astringent, it effectively cures discoloration, excess oil and large pores.
Take a tbsp of tomato juice and half tsp of honey and mix them together to form a paste. Apply this mixture all over your face and let it dry overnight. Next morning, you will wake up with healthy and glowing skin. You can use an extra cloth on your pillow to prevent staining.

Everyone loves the bed-head messy looking hair, but all we get is hair that looks like a pathetic mess. If you want the beachy waves, you can try the following method. Twist damp hair into mini buns. If you don’t want loose wave you can also try braids. Sleep with the bun or the braid and wake up with the ideal messy look. If your hair doesn’t hold curls, you can also try a curling mousse.
• Sweet Almond oil
Almond oil works as a good home remedy for reducing dark circles. We have already discussed, one for dark circles, but we need more tricks for them because let’s face it, dark circles are the worst. They are hard to get rid of and sometimes even makeup cannot cover them completely. Take a few drops of almond oil and gently massage under your eyes. Leave it on. This will help the oil to sink in.
• Say cheese
How about getting perfect pearly whites overnight? Sounds great, right? Make a mixture of 1/2 tbsp of table salt, 2 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide and 2 tbsp of baking soda. Brush with this paste for at least two minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. Brush again with regular toothpaste. Do this only once a week.
• Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera has been used for ages for natural skin treatment. It can be used as a natural remedy for curing acne. It also soothes nasty sunburn. You can use Aloe Vera as an overnight moisturizer as well as a spot treatment. Wash your face with a soap and apply the aloe vera gel on the affected skin. Leave it on overnight and wash it off the next morning. It helps you keep your skin soft and non-greasy.
All this will be in vain if you don’t get a peaceful sleep. If you are a restless soul, you can try apps like headspace that lets you do meditation before going to sleep.
