In the quest to attain a beautiful and glowing face, we often forget to take care of our neck. And as a result, it becomes dull and neglected. Lack of proper care leads to dark spots, patches, and the creation of unappealing layers of fat on the neck. Usually, with age, the skin loses its elasticity and firmness that result in a wrinkly, crepey, and saggy neck. Going under the knife is not always an option. So, we bring to you some home remedies for your neck that will not only reduce discolouration, but also helps in giving a baby soft skin.

• Cucumber Juice

Cucumber juice smoothens the skin, removes the accumulated dead skin, and provides excellent hydration and nourishment. Grate a cucumber and apply it to your neck area. Lightly massage your neck with the grated cucumber and splash some rose water.

• Lemon Juice

Mix equal amount of lemon juice and rose water. Apply this on your neck and leave it on overnight. Repeat this process for a month till you see visible results.

• Potato Liquid

Vitamin C in potato works as the antioxidant which helps greatly in clearing up the dark spots. Potato contains vitamin C, vitamin B6, and potassium, which helps heal the damage of the skin cells. Take a slice of potato and rub it on your neck. It is a good home remedy. You can use spud juice, grated spud or chopped potato for your neck.

• Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera contains anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin inflammation. Aloe Vera is a skin lightener, it doesn't only lighten the skin color but also a feeling of freshness and rejuvenation. You can use Aloe Vera gel and apply a layer of it around the neck directly. Wash it off with normal water after 15 minutes.

• Almond Oil

Almond oil contains vitamin A, which helps prevent future acne. It also works great in removing debris from skin pores and follicles. Warm the almond oil over a gentle heat and massage your neck with it once a day. This will help in better blood circulation and will also provide a moisturizing effect to the skin.

• Orange Peel

Orange peel is nutrient-rich, which removes the dead skin cells and promote regeneration of new skin cells. Add milk to dry orange peel powder and use it on your neck. Wash the neck with fresh water after 20-30 minutes.

• Chickpea Flour

Chickpea flour has alkalizing properties, which help maintain the pH level of the skin. It is also an excellent scrubber and removes dead skin cells. Take some chickpea flour and add a pinch of turmeric powder with water to make a paste. Apply this paste on your neck and let it dry for half an hour. Rinse it off with water.

• Honey and Tomato

Tomato contains acids that lighten the tone of the skin while honey is a good moisturizer. Mix honey and tomato and apply the mixture on your neck. Let it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with normal water. For best results, repeat the process daily.

• Yogurt

Yogurt is a natural remedy for lightening the skin tone. The acid present in yogurt helps in bleaching naturally. Apply it on your neck and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it off with water.

• Baking Soda

Baking soda helps balance the pH level of the skin and remove dead skin cells. Make a paste of baking soda and water. Apply this mixture on your neck. After it dries, wash off with lukewarm water and then moisturize the skin. It will not only lighten the tone, but also cleanse the skin too.

• Sandalwood

Sandalwood can help you get back that lost glow of your skin. Make a paste using sandalwood and rose water. Use the paste as a pack and let the neck area dry before you wash it off with water.

• Mint leaves

Mint leaves have healing properties and are good cleansers. Take some mint leaves; add some water, leaves and a pinch of turmeric powder to make a paste. Let the paste stay on your neck for 20 minutes before rinsing off.

• Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a good scrub and can be used for the exfoliation of your neck. You can mix oatmeal with honey, milk, cream or yogurt. Apply the mixture and leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash it off with water.

• Fruit Mask

Fruit masks can be used to nourish the skin and also lighten the tone. You can use avocado, orange or banana or mix all three to form a pack. Cover your neck with the mask for 30 minutes. You can also add a lemon juice for better results.
